Like a Christmas present OMS team gave us a new solution yesterday. As the name suggest the solution aims to give you visibility over the replication of your domain controllers. To get some results you will need at least two domain controllers located in different AD sites. I believe the solution works with any domain controller that is on a supported by OMS Windows operating system. Continue reading “AD Replication Status Solution in Operations Management Suite”
I am open sourcing download the script that I’ve created for downloading all Microsoft SCOM MPs. Open sourcing is meant to be a joke of course. It is a script with code that is available for viewing and changing as whatever serves your purpose since its creation. The difference is that I am moving to GitHub so it will be easier for contribution by all. There is not new version but you can find all code here. The TechNet gallery page will be left as placeholder but will not contain the script anymore. You can find a link to GitHub repository there as well. I hope this change is welcome.

Not so long ago I’ve reported an issue where Multi-Tenant RRAS (Windows Server Gateway) is not discovered by by the Multi-Tenant RRAS Management Pack. This problem has been fixed in Update Rollup 2 for System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine Manager. If you add Windows Server Gateways as Network Service in VMM as usual you will not notice a difference in the wizard and after the gateway is added successful you will probably had to create that Client Access Point resource manually. That is because the fix is not exposed directly in the wizard, it is actually a parameter that you have provide in the connection string. And actually the parameters are two: Continue reading “Adding Windows Server Gateway Cluster as Network Service in VMM 2012 R2 UR2 for Monitoring with SCOM”
